One of our favorite holidays of the year. Why? Because any excuse to wear a costume is good, but this is the big enchilada of costume parties!
This year, we were costume failures, opting instead to wear costumes previously worn in halloweens past. Not to worry though, Ash and I are flying out for Derek’s Nov. 11 “Superheroes” party! I’m going as Nacho Libre of course. This going to be awesome.
This was the first time we’ve had halloween in a house in a neighborhood, and it was actually cool to have kids come trick or treating!
Halloween pics to follow. Of course, those are the two pumpkins we carved. Can you guess who did each pumpkin?

To date, we have only the fireplace moulding and staining of the kitchen cabinets left. We started 4 weeks ago on what was to be a 2 week job. I’m learning for the first time that contractors:
- Usually don’t finish when they say they will, and
- Sometimes don’t show up on days they’re supposed to and don’t tell you about it
I haven’t been into the office in at least 4 weeks, mainly because we are having work done, but also because we have one car and I don’t feel like driving Ashley to work at 7:40am every day (yes you can call me lazy
). Speaking of cars, we’re think either this or this. Not sure if we’ll be able to afford them but it’s nice to dream.
I can’t wait until the fireplace is done (hopefully tomorrow), because that means we can finally start cleaning up the living room and start placing our couches and furniture around. So far we’ve basically only hung out upstairs, mostly in the guest room / office.

Lately, I’ve been having lots of ‘grown-up moments’. You know those moments when you step back and realize you’ve just grown a little older.
The last one I recall is when Ashley and I purchased a Frigidaire Fridge and Stove. We did our research on it, and ultimately found a great deal, which we made even better by getting a discount for buying both at the same time. It’s stainless steel of course.
And then I came to the realization: Who of my friends has ever bought a FRIDGE and STOVE??? Clearly, the amount of of joy we got from researching and purchasing these appliances is scary!
On the other hand, I now declare my love for crushed ice! Yes, it’s true. It’s a feature that we researched on our fridge.

I had a great conversation with Shaista Puphu on Google Talk today! I was surpised at how clear the audio was, and that there was almost no lag at all (like you get when dialing from a phone)

To all family and friends,
Eid Mubarak! I know that Ashley and I are far from many of you, and we wanted you all to know that you are in our thoughts today.
I thought a great way for Ashley and I to keep everyone informed of what’s happening in our lives is to start a blog (What’s a blog?). We hope to be updating this site regularly with things that are relevant to us. Feel free to comment on what Ashley and I post, we would love to hear from you. You can leave comments for a post by clicking below the post where it says ‘# of comments’ and writing a response.
